Welcome Address by the Congress Presidents

Welcome to Frankfurt!

Prof. Dr. Johannes Hartig & Prof. Dr. Holger Horz

For the first time two organizers are pleased to invite you to Frankfurt on behalf of Goethe University Frankfurt and the German Institute for International Educational Research (DIPF) to the 51st Congress of the German Psychological Society (DGPs). Under the theme “Psychologie gestaltet” (“Psychology shapes”, referring to the history of Gestalt psychology in Frankfurt), we want to put this year’s focus on the important role of scientific psychology in tackling individual and societal challenges.

Call for Papers

Dear Colleagues,

We are accepting scientific contributions from all areas of psychological research up until January 15th, 2018. As in previous years, contributions can take various formats, such as posters, research talks, symposia, position papers, panel discussions and demonstations. In this context, our congress in Frankfurt will continue the Hot Topic Sessions already introduced in Leipzig. As a participant, you have the opportunity to submit a proposal – in English, please – for a symposium on one of these prominent topics. A new feature to be launched for the first time in Frankfurt will be digital poster sessions that give speakers additional presentation features. Also new are interactive forums: A format in which practical problems or currently planned extensive research projects can be discussed.

In May 2018 we will inform you whether and in what form your contribution has been accepted. We are looking forward to welcome you here in Frankfurt with a hearty Hessian “Ei Gude!” (i.e., “Hello!”).
